alpine amps

ok here it is . comes down to these two amps. I want good clean bass, and simple good sounding system that will be reliable and not kill the electrical on my car(92 protégé) will be running one type r sub rated at 600w rms. both amps are in my area , both are $100. mrpm850 , al little bit old now. and mrpm500, still has receipt from audio store. what do you guys think?

850 would be plenty of power for the type r. Those alpine amps run at 2 ohms. So just make sure that's how you wire it. I have my type r 12" on an Alpine MRX-M50 which does 500 to it. I like it. Always room for improvement, but I'm happy. Just don't spend too much time in someone's car when it has two type r's on an MRX-110 (1100watts) and you won't feel like you're missing anything haha (that's what happened to me).

Do you think the 850 would beat the crap out of my electrical opposed to the 500? Im also going to run small flex4 alpine amp
