Okay, so running this H/U active is slightly more confusing than I thought it would be and I have a few questions.

  • When using Imprint, I know you can no longer adjust the EQ or T/A stuff, but can you still adjust crossover points, or does the software do that for you?
  • Setting the crossovers isn't as open as I thought it would be. The deck goes from like 2.5khz to 3.2khz or something, and there are no points in between. I know I can get to those points by setting output level between -12 and 0db... but don't know exactly how that would work.
  • I believe I know how the slopes work, so if you could just verify this. A 12db octave means that for each octave you move, you will lose 12db correct? So if your crossover point is at 100hz, then both 50hz and 200hz play at 12db less than the 100hz? Basically the higher the slope, the closer the driver will cut out to the crossover point?
  • What about a FLAT slope? What does that do?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me answer these questions!

no point in using Imprint, its your ears youre trying to please so use them to tune your system

and yes thats how slope works and if you set it to flat, it basically turns the xover off

how about not posting and trying searching through the manual more, or go out to the radio you're asking about and do some trial and error.

It'll be nice if this thread was in the correct section, too.

oya maybe it's not in he manual and I'm sure someone here knows the answer so I would rather ask them than end up sending a 1khz tone to my tweets and blowing them. It's not like I just asked some stupid question... I tried to do some research and posted what I learned but what questions I still had

What would be the purpose of a forum of you never asked a question to learn because you don't know everything

Now anyways get out of my thread and if anyone else can answer my questions that would be great

Oh yeah and since this has to do with crossover points I'm sure it is just fine in the general discussion area where there is more traffic and ppssibilty that my question will be answered as opposed to the head unit forum

Okay, but can you explain how I would cross it at say 3.5khz because I don't know how you use the -12 - 0 db thing...
that just lets you turn down your fronts (tweets) or rears (mids) or sub

just more flexibility

youre just gonna have to experiment. i got my 9887 like 6 months ago, finally think i got it to sound its best this last week

i set it up one way, listen to if for like a week or so and make any changes to try and improve it

seems like many people on here just can't figure shit out for themselves.
trial and error with vol on 0.
Yeah and how are you supposed to hear how that crossover point effects the sound with volume on 0... you are an idiot just go troll somewhere else you retard

you sound very impotent, trying to get someone to hold your hand and teach you how to use a unit YOU HAVE IN FRONT OF YOU.

If the display shows the crossover points changing, of course it'll effect the sound. That's what it's made to do
