A guy I know has one for sale for $100. Is this unit a big improvement over my current deh-p80mp? I need one that will work well with my ipod. Seems like this price is a steal or the HU is a "steal".

Highs (At least in my opinion): Good build quality, good ipod connection.

Lows: 2 band EQ(basically over-glorified bass and treble boosts.) If IPOD's all you care about go for it but in my opinion the only thing in Alpine's current line that is a level above the other stuff is the 9887. Everything else seems to be the same low end head unit with a non-SQ related gimmic added here and there.

I need seperate eq controls for front, rear and subs. $100 is a good deal though right?
