Alpine 9886 Help

I installed an Alpine 9886. I cannot get the settings to save. If I set the time/date, or adjust bass, treble settings, etc, it works fine until I pull the key from the ignition. When I start the unit again all the settings change back to default.

How did you wire the radio in the back?

if you used a harness and wired the yellow constant wire correctly to the car harness then its possible that a fuse is bad, ( some cars have 2 different radio fuses) or its also possible you just didnt wire it correctly ( bad solder joint maybe)

Thanks for the quick reply. The harness is connected correctly; I checked the yellow wire; I'll check the car fuses next.

What kind of car? and di you use the Wal-mArt HArness

Thanks for the replies. I was told my problem is the yellow and red wires are crossed. The constant wire on the Alpine is yellow, whereas its red on the Metra harness. I have it connected yellow to yellow/ red to red.

Porsche Boxster. I used the Metra 70-1787 harness from Circuit City. The Alpine 9886 works perfectly except not being able to save settings. It's more of an annoyance than anything, having to reset the bass and treble settings every time I turn on the unit.
