Went looking on crutchfield comparing the 9855 and 9853 and it seems the only difference is in the display? most of the other eq functions and such seem identical. Are they having any known problems with either. Im looking to get a new HU in the 300-400 range and want something good and trouble free. any help is definately apperciated.

I would say get the 9835 if you can find one NIB. Otherwise, the 9855 is a nice deck. As long as you get one from the new batch though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif On the other hand, if you consider other brands, there are many nice decks available. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Any reason the 9855 over the 53 to explain the 100 or so dollar diff? im really not worried about the display to much and i'm not to worried about the 2vpre out difference either.

Looks like the display and 2v outputs are the difference. I agree with others that the 9833 would be a better choice. basically the same without that touch thing but with the 4v outputs.

Been lookin around for some 9835 but most are goin for 250ish used nothing NIB to be found. So im kinda puttin that outta the picture id rather take my chance with buyin the 9853 NIB than the 35 used. Any thoughts on the clarion unit dxz954mp?

There really isn't a difference other than the display, 4V outs, and the color illumination. However, I didn't spend $100 more to get my 9855. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Well i decided to go with the 9853 the 55 was just to much for not enuff more. I was looking at clarion but didnt feeling like buying from crutchfield for almost double what i could get it for on ebay but also none of the ebay clarions945mp had a warranty. So i ended up gettin the 53 for 213shipped didnt think that was that bad of a deal 1 yr warranty too.

The 9855's are great decks, as long as it's the new batch of them. Made how they are SUPPOSED to be. I've had absolutely no problems. The glide touch sure does take some getting used to. All in all, i wouldn't of gotten another HU, especially for $280.00 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
