Alpine 9855 release???

Nice pics man, I just noticed that Best Buy added the 9853 and 9855 to they're site. It says they're only available in the stores though. May have to put it on the old Best Buy credit card //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.

ahhhhh!!! credit cards... don't do it man. just wait and save.

but yeah this thing is amazing. I bet Best Buy has it for the msrp of 500. I got mine for $449 out the door.

anyone know what the "data download" is for? and what you can download to the deck? think we can get any more of the BG Display graphics???

You can customize all your settings through the alpine web site burn it on to a disc and download it into the headunit.

To get this feature to work make sure you burn the disc as data. Also you have to register at http://www.alpine-usa.com to take advantage of this feature.

Here are some new, higher quality pictures, of the 9853:

You can also see how the menus are laid out from these pictures.

Does anyone know what 9855 looks like when they are playing an mp3 for eg. What information do they show, I was told they look like the 9835 with the two lines of information but not to sure how reliable the source is. I have an option for either the 9835 or the 9855 when it comes out but I think I am going more for the 9835.

Crutchfield.com has it "In Stock." Now to save up some money... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/clap.gif.178cba2c538c68e720c727fcb024b19c.gif Yay for this //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/clap.gif.178cba2c538c68e720c727fcb024b19c.gif

Everyone, what's the difference in Bass Engine and Bass Engine Pro? I wonder this because to me, I can't see myself spending the extra cash on a CDA-9855 for just the display and 4V outputs. Besides, I am using my Epicenter as a line driver anyway (7.5V //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ).

I wonder this because most sites and even the box on my CDA-9853 say that it's just Bass Engine and you have to upgrade to the CDA-9855 to get Bass Engine Pro. However, upon tweaking my settings, I noticed that I seem to have all the features as Pro. I have the following:

6-Channel Digital Time Correction

6-Position Digital Crossover with Adjustable Slope (2-Way and 3-Way)

5-band Digital Parametric EQ - 1/3-octave increments: Band 1 (20Hz-160Hz), Band 2 (50Hz-400Hz), Band 3 (125Hz-1kHz), Band 4 (315Hz-8kHz), and Band 5 (800Hz-20kHz)

7-band Graphic EQ

Subwoofer Level Control and Phase Selector

MediaXpander (MX)

So, the CDA-9853 has Bass Engine Pro. Which means, then, that the only difference is the display and the 4V outs...So, you have to ask yourself if it's worth $100+ for those additional items....

the color of the 4 buttons can be changed to many many different colors. the color of all the other buttons is either green or amber. and, to my knowledge, the GlideTouch bar is always white....
