alpine 9855 going out????????

ok.....ive had my alpine cda-9855 for like 5 months and it has been sweet. until now. i turn it on and everything lights up and the the screen says alpine then goes black, but the seek buttons stay lit up and if you turn it on and off it does the same thing.

any ideas???????

Hold down the function button (the one to the left of the glidetouch bar) until it beeps, and your display should come on. Sounds like you got into the blackout mode somehow.

Check out this image if you need help locating the aforementioned "function" button. Based on what you've said, it's not broken -- just blacked out.

thanks but i tried that and it came on and then kind of faded in and out like a tv trying to get reception then went black???
