ALPINE 9851 vs 9830

Yes, I know this has been covered before and I thoroughly read all of them but check this out, I can get the 9851 for under 100 but no waranty, no remote, no harness... just the faceplate, unit, and harness.

My question is... is this a steal??? Of course there maybe tradeoffs such as the 4v preouts, bass engine pro, (crossover?), . What else am I losing if I switch over to the 9851. I like the blue display, any input will be gladly appreciated...

9830-2004model, 9851-2005 model... I heard something about the 2005 not as good as the 04s??

I owned a 9830 for a short while and thought it was soso

the display is really hard to see in daylight,the worst I have experienced to date

and my Excelon 789 which I won on the raffle here sounded better....

the 9851 comes with the wire harness only, no remote

i value performance over the appearance but the 9851 looks hotter then the 9830, yeah its true that the display is hard to see in daylight but tilting my head isnt so bad
