alpine 9835 problem

well, i finally got everything installed in my truck and now i have a problem. i know its not my amp, because i hooked my ipod up and the amp and sub worked great. for some reason, the HU wont play through the amp. rca's are connected(double and triple checked), sub preout is all the way up and turned on. maybe im missing a setting inside the hu or something, can anyone give me an idea of what it could be?

ok, it will play everything fine through my 4 channel, a dd s4. for some reason it wont play my sub. through the setup menu, the sub is on, its in mono and its at +15 on the sub control. i know its not the amp because i hooked my ipod to it and it played fine, so its something with the HU

if defeat was on, none of the speakers would play--he said his 4 channel plays tho. I had the exact same thought at first

take a multimeter and check the preout voltage.

try changing rca's, may have broken somwhere

there's a setting in the head unit to turn subs on and off. they're set to off. change it and it'll work for you. i've got a couple of older alpines at home. what you have to do is hold the function button to get into the menu and from there use the search buttons to go back and fourth. once you get to subwoofer, hit the band button to change it from off to on. that should fix the problem for you.

Meh, I just got mine installed. Tell ya what, tons of features on the HU. Now I just gotta figure out why my back spkrs don't work and I know they worked previously. Does this HU have a feature to run front spkrs only?? Not tryin to jack your thread,jeepin but maybe the remote wire came loose somewhere?
