Just as the title asks, how does one open the faceplate to an Alpine HU? I see that there are 3 little screws, but even with those removed, I am reciveving a fair amount of resistance.

Is there a clip or special button I need to press? I am going to be changing the SMT LEDs in there.

**** that is a ****ing sweet *** idea...... *breaks open 9855*
Or you can just change the color of the LEDs by pressing a couple buttons...

Read the manual. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah, the is some resistance for getting it up. Pry slightly...there are little clips around the edges...

PERFECT. Ok, I'll give this another shot tonight. Thanks!

The LEDs are a 3-way tricolor diode (RGB) and do not produce the color scheme that I want. I want blue and white...that's IT. You will never be capable of acheiving this using the OEM SMT LEDs.

PS: Don't forget to show the finished product //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif...
Oh, don't worry, I WILL. Right now I am working on finsihing up the interior. I have a few more superflux LED bars to fabricate & install. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

man that's definetly a project i could see MANY people paying for.
Yeah, but unfortunatley this ain't gonna be cheap. This looks like a good 5 hours of delicate work. Plus the leds are gonna run some $20 alone. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

still though tell people 80 if you supply the LED's 110 if they don't;). i wouldn't be surprised if people wanted to do it depending on how complex a design you could do.

yeah it is, but if you spend 100 and someone who knows what they are doing makes it vs. you trying and focking your faceplate up what's worth more //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.
