alpine 9815 HELP

Ok, my buddy has an Alpine 9815. We were crusin through town just now playing it at like 10/35 volume, nothing cranked up at all. All of a sudden it made a buzzing sound and i smelt something burning. Then a second later the h/u shuts off completely and won't come back on. Anyone have any idea what happened? Is he screwed?

The 20 amp fuse in the plastic box that is behind the head unit could have blown. Pull the head unit out of the dash and check it out? Is there any power draw going to it at all? I have one and have never had any problems.

sounds like your wiring from either your head unit or amps fried
