Alpine 9813 vs. 9815 and/or 9833 vs 9835

Hello All,

I have been looking at the above decks and trying to determine the major differences between them, but I don't see much.

Other than the year 9813 and 15 were 2003 while the 9833 and 35 were 2004 models, the features seem about the same.

Does anyone know the differences between the 2003 and 2004 models?

Does anyone know the differences betwee the 13 and 15 or the 33 and 35 models?

I think the 2005 and 2006 models were disapointing from Alpine so I am looking at buying one of these older units via ebay. However, Alpine's site has no info on these older units.

Anyone have an idea on a fair price for these units?

Thanks,

Java

you can't go wrong with either; all LOVELY head-units IMO...

9815 has 2line display, i-personalize and blue color illumination against 1line display and green color illumination from 9813

9835 has biolite and, as people say all around, has stronger pre-outs than 9815...

i still think 9815=teh secsay

I've seen the 9835 go from $250-$350 and the 9815 go from $150-$200.

Personally, If you want the upmost of tunability, get the 9835 matched with the H701 processor...but I like my 9811 so if I get a new one, it'll probably be a 9815 so I wont have to re-learn too much...

Thanks for the feedback on the 13 vs. 15. Do you know if it is the same for the 33 vs. the 35?

I think I am narrowing the options down to the 15 or 33.

33 and 35 are the same except the 35 has biolite display wich is much nicer imo. i'm not sure but i don't think the 13 and 15 are ipod capable. the 33 and 35 are with the kca-420i

Cool, thanks for all the input. Now I just need to win one of the auctions.

Oh, one last thing...can any of these units have both an MP3 player and XM hooked up at the same time? (not playing, but enough aux in ports)

w/ some Y-cables or splitters you can. i've once had an ipod and a ps2 hooked up to my 9835 at the same time.

my 9811 is XM ready so presumably the 9813 and 15 are too but I havnt researched on how to exactly set it up or if you can have both connected at the same time...

with the 35 the xm unit also works as a pass through if you wanted to add the ipod with the kca-420i

IIRC, The 15 has Bass Engine Pro and thus a more robust equalizer (bands, slopes, dB/Oct). All of the Alpines you named tho are great and I would pick any of those over their current offerings.

I have had my 9815 for about 3 months now and I have never owned a HU that I have been more pleased with.

yeah, i loved mine too.. only glitch was the mp3 load times (tolerable, at least, but could be better).
