Well my Alpine changer finally crapped out in my 98 Honda civic - 14 years old. Anyways, does anyone know of a newer model that would work? I noticed that the changer has a short cable with plug in the trunk that connects to a longer cable that runs to the factory deck. I was hoping that newer cd changers use the same type of plug as I do not want to run new cable all the way. Also, on the deck (factory) when I select cd and it goes to cd I can hear the cd load into the changer but the cd will not spin and the deck kicks you out from lets say cd 5 track 1 to cd 5 and then just to cd with zero's... deck works fine for radio. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks. Is "CHM" an old model or are they making newer models in the CHM series? Thanks again!
Alpine made both a CHM and a CHA model of changers, those letters indicate what kind of plug they have so it would match their two different lines of head units.

Head units that end in an :"A" (like CDA-117 for instance) would use the CHA changers.

I think (not 100% sure) that Alpine used CHM in most of their OEM units for car companies, as well as for the after market.

Oh, I also noticed some of the used ones on ebay don't include the magazine. Will the magazine I currently have in the CHM-s611 work in the other CHM models?
