Alpine 1st-Gen Type-E Sub...Best Size (cu.ft.) for Ported Box???

its a 12" sub btw (didnt mention it in title...my bad)

I was told in another forum to do 5 cu.ft. for a vented box with 2 3" ports (8" long) to achieve ~27Hz...i don't want to do sealed because i made 2 different sealed boxes 1.5cuft and 2.5cuft and right now i have 2.5cuft PORTED (tuned to ~31Hz) and im loving the ported better than the other 2...and since ported boxes usually require larger displacement i was thinking that going 5cuft as recommended in my other forum that it should sound better than what i have now. I know i dont have the nicest sub in the world but i want smooth...reverberating bass not boomy and muddy

**** 5 cubes @ 27 = I would because I like lots of low end. mechanical power handling will go down alot.

i have a new type e in 2.2ish, 35hz and its plenty loud, but the low end could be a little better, so if i had to redo it i would do 2.3 or 2.4 and 33hz, but thats close to your box now.

so heres the question: what is wrong with the box it is in right now? its tuned a little low but i think if youre happy with it then keep it.
