all 4 speakers hooked up to a 2channel amp?

I also want to do this. Buy a 2 channel 100+ watts/channel RMS amp to run 4 speakers. But the problem is my CDT cl-61's in the front handle the 100wpc and my rears, cl-6x's only handle 40 wpc RMS.

100+ watts/channel 4 channel amps are hard to find and expensive.

Any ideas??

thanks..

Buy a 100 W rms X 2 @ 4 ohm amp and a 40 W rms X 2 @ 4 ohm amp. The 40 watt one shouldn't cost too much. It's only rear fill so it's not like you'll need the best amp for them anyways. However if you wanted to go with more of a "name brand" you could go with say an Alpine or a Rockford Fosgate but that would run you over a hundred dollars. Even this cheesy little Lightning Audio would do the trick.

So that 8ohms is going to add to the 4 ohms of the rear speakers? Giving it a total of 12ohm for the rear speaker??

If so, the total impedance seen by the amplifier will be 3 ohms. Is this correct?

On their website, they list the CL-6x's power handling to be 80 watts, not 40. I would find it hard to believe that 80 watts is a max power rating?

CDT Coaxials

Anybody???
Just run the positive leads of each speaker (front right + to rear right +) to the positive output on the amplifier. The same for the negative leads. Repeat that for the other side and you're all set.
