Saying something "touches" that subject, and saying it does indeed prevent cancer are two different things. I never said it to be a fact.

That really is just a matter of oppinion. One that I tend to agree with at my age and current set of reponsibilities.
They both are used for essentially the same reason. One just happens to be legal.
