grape flavored water adds 3dB's man......

good shit dan, just like u, cant wait to get the the 18 operational and back in the car where it needs to be....cool test...

ohh i see on the SPLwhat are the consequences of higher tuning? low bass doesnt hit as good?

lol i thought you just poured it on there accidentaly, but it was for a fire so yea youre lucky.

any idea what caused the fire?

In life, as we well know is a series of trade offs for what you want. SPL is no different. The consequences of tuning higher ultimately is higher numbers on the meter, but less output on the lower end of the band spectrum of fequencies that we consider "sub bass". Its not that my SPL box cant play rap with lots of low bass in it, its just that it low extention output isnt as great as it could be if it was tuned to 30-45 hz. That being said, most rap songs are between 30-50 hz anyways, yet I have my SPL box tuned to 59 - but there is some songs that have output at such fequencies and of which I use for my MECA driveby compeition since that yields the highest output gain on the meter.

Ask anyone who sat in my Jeep at DB Drag finals, there is plenty low bass extention - it just shines on the meter on the upper bass notes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif And there is some songs that you probably listen to regularly that dont sound near as loud on your setup as it would mine.....good example - Yo Gotti's "Birdman" song....it has 30 seconds of 57 hz bass thru half the song, and its enough to make your ears bleed when your in my car (a bit of an exaggeration but it sure feels like it)....but on a car thats tuned to 40 hz daily the same note wouldnt seem like it would be very loud.

is that the same song you did some editing on and linked for download in another post?

if so, i downloaded it and wasn't all that impressed with that bassline. i thought it seemed kinda high, and i guess it was. in my car it just makes the trunk rattle a lot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

in theory, tuning high will also create more of a peaked response.

Yes its peaky, but thats sort of the point in SPL. That song makes my box go NUTS and blurs your vision....i bet on your setup you can barely hear it. See this is what I was talkn about.

That 57hz line is loud in my car, and I'm running a sealed box.

Alan Jackson will rule the world someday....

I think I got you beat on rattles.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
