Airbags Risk

Could the rattle from subwoofers throughout the car set off the airbag sensors while driving? I know I don't have a huge system that I need to worry about it, but there have be people with systems that shake the car so much that it sets off the airbag sensors.

Is this plausable or just something that would be nearly impossible?

This may seem stuid but I really am curious and I tried a search first, with no results.

No.

Airbags do not work that way.

It is actually hard to get them to blow.

I hit a fukcing deer and they didn't blow. Your penny-andy *** system isn't gonna make em blow

This may be in the wrong forum to talk about but could someone explain to me how the airbags do work? I was thinking that the car must be going over a certain speed and one the the impact sensors must be tripped by a large jolt. I realize that with subs this would take a tremendous amount of flexing, but with a system like steave meades and a car that vibrates like crazy, is this possible?

I really do want to see something like this done on mythbusters, since i'm too poor to even begin to fund this project.

found the answer on MOST cars, but there are some cars that this is still possible [ones with electronic sensors and not mechanical]. And even then it would take tremendous force, way more than subs could put out. Thanks for helping me clarify it though.

Why would you ever even entertain that idea for a second?

If airbags were so easy to deploy that subwoofers could set them off than you could just run around kicking people's cars and setting off their airbags all day.
