I am looking at within the year signing up for the Air Force..have to drop some weight..any thing i should be prepared for etc....

heh what sucks is when i was talking to the marine recruiters my max weight was like ~230 for my height.... air force they told me 210 (just kind of a base generalization you know)... lol.. seems like it would kinda be the other way around but I dont know if they account for BMI and all that, cause if so I know I wont have as much weight to lose..

Well I'm just saying. Being a fighter pilot isn't a, "well i decided to give this a try" type of job.

It's a very long and grueling training process.

If you need to do research, and think about it, being a pilot in the airforce and flying a multi-million dollar plane probably isn't for you.

WTF the air force isnt JUST pilots....??? That is a pretty dumb generalization.

edit: and before you even think about trying.... NOWHERE in his posts did he say anything about flying a ****ing plane.

a navigator? cook? flight attendant? Sorry he didn't really say what he wanted to be.

It's like if someone says they want to go into the army, of course everyone is going to think infantry.

First off, no. Anyone who is halfway intelligent will realize that the army isn't just infantry. Again, a dumb generalization.

I already said I've been in talks about going into EOD. I would do the marines, but after a lot of research on my end (and talking to people in every branch) I've realized that the Air Force would be a better option for me in my situation. Especially with my dad having spent 21 years in the Air Force, I am more familiar with the locations and arrangements of Air Force bases.

firefighter.

same applies as what i said before. You'll need a lot of training, not only in fire sciences, but in the medical areas as well. normally, thousands of people apply for a dozen spots for firefighting.

And it's not as glorious as you think.

Trust me. it's a pain in the ***. But it can be fun.

thermal layering is a *****.

In the air force i'd expect more training in hazardous materials and metal fires. Very dangerous shit man. You have to want it.

Only advice I can give you is get any and everything the recruiter says in writing.
