I bought another Type R off ebay, a dvc 4 ohm sub thinking I could connect it to my MTX Thunder 282 (160 wattsx2 into a 2 ohm load or 300 watts bridged into a 4 ohm load)

I figured well hmmm. 4 ohm sub, 4 ohm amp, looks like a match.

Well this sucks, is MTX correct here and I just wasted 43 dollars on nothing? :\

Yup, you cant get the full potential from that amp... Not much power for the new Type R's anyway.

old type Rs, I'd doubt you'd find an 05 12 inch for 43 shipped.

The answer to your original question is yes - a dual 4 Ohm sub and a two channel amp aren't well suited for each other's company.

And that amp isnt stable at 2 ohms mono, so you would have to go for 8 ohms and get around ~150-200w...

Ill probably try chances are I'll get no replies and 0 views like when I was selling a bunch of 05 10" CVRs for 35 plus shipping. Then I put them on Ebay and got 1/4 my money back lol....
