Again?? RF t2000 caught fire, Y?

If you have a collection of burnt up amps, you are more than likely doing something wrong. I been in and out of car audio for 14 years and never smoked an amp once. Running anything from power acoustik to sundown and rf.

i agree, i have also never burned up an amp or anything. i did however sell someone local a amp and installed it for him and he told me to turn the gain bass boost all the way up, i repeat i repeat i told him that is not a good idea and it will blow your amp i would not advise this. he said its cool just do it. i said **** it its your amp. next day he called me and said whats wrong with the amp its blown.... i told him what do you expect i told you

Improper install. Just because you have the electrical to back up that kind of wattage, doesn't mean everything is secure and hooked up correctly. For all we know, your power and ground could be ducted taped to the ring terminals.

What gauge wiring are you using?

I been using a T4000 for three years now. Half of that time was with a very **** poor electrical. Since then I have beefed up the electrical and run two 4000s. Never had a problem with them or any amps. All about install and listening habits. Maybe your problem was a freak incident but 99% of the time it's the user.

As you know I don't know much, but I will share this. A local installer insisted I needed a line driver. I said "My HU is 4 volts... you really think I need a LD? I said years ago I think they were needed, but not these days. I understand they can introduce problems if they are not needed." He was very cocky, blew me off, and insisted I needed it. Knowing you can get one for $100.00 or less I said... "Well maybe I will get it, but if it's going to be $600 or something crazy I can't do it." He then said well that's about how much it will be. He was just being a butt. I did have a sub fry an amp recently. At first I thought the amp was the issue. Got the same sub and amp replaced and the same thing almost happened again. The amp was going in to protection mode this time. In the end it was determined the sub was messing with the amp. The sub was replaced with another brand and all has been well since.

Its 2012 and fosgate ***** balls, get a better amp and learn to set your gains. Why would you have all that money into your sub stage then not even have a good HU? Which i assume is the reason you got a line driver, to up your output voltage.

When doing your install make sure you double check all connections are good and tight
