I just upgraded the big 3 today to 0 gauge wire for everything but my headlights still dim when my subs hit..I guess my next step would be to upgrade my alternator. How much power do I need from a higher output alternator. I've got one Alpine 600 watt amp pushing 2 10" Rockford Fosgate p3 shallow mount subs...and an 800 watt audiobahn intake amp for all my door speakers. All together 1400 watts..What size alternator?

chevy silverado extended cab 2006...not sure what size the stock alternator is but I started with 0 gauge from the positive side of the battery to the alternator. 0 gauge from the negative side of the battery to a spot on the chassis that already had a ground on it from the engine but sanded before terminating. Ran another 0 gauge from the engine block to that same spot on the chassis, and then another 0 gauge from the same spot on the engine block to the negative side of the battery.
