I said it, I meant it.
I just have a few quick question, I will be getting a RLP15 in the mail soon and as such i need advice on: what size of aero, how many, and length. The Box will be to spec, 3.5 ft cubed and hopefully tuned to 28 hz.

Also if you can make it easy for me and send me links to all the different parts of the aeros i will need to achieve it, i will be much appreciative.

Anybody who can do all of this for me ill give you $5 via paypal. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Well I have 3 4" percision port aeros for you if you want hem for a good price. I cant use them so all 3 are brand freakin new. I'm not a pro on these ports though. I was gonna use all 3 and leave them the full 18" length and my 4.5 CF box would be tuned to 33ish.

You could get away with maybe 2 of these at about 24" and that will get u close. Im not a pro though.

You won't be able to get to 28 hz with 3.5 ft with any useful port volume with aeroports. They would need to be way to long to work...you could get to the low 30's with a single 6" although its not enough port area IMO.

Ok man ill contact you if i need'em.

I was hoping there would be just a quick and easy answer and this wouldnt be a aero port help thread. Anyways i have 40" width x 19" high x 35" depth to work with.

So size of the box can be adjusted. I just found the psp-inc calculator. I plugged in 3.8 at 32hz with 3 4" ports and got 32.17 flare length. Now im guessing that will be divided by three which is about 10.7" long each? or is that each one has to be 32.17" long? To get that number i put in simply 4" for the diameter. Would that be right or would i have to put 6.25 to count for the flare not just the tube?

Ive been doing major research on the subject, even tho the info i found is scarce compared to some other stuff i have researched. Anyways so i think ive come up with a design that will work.

I will be using 1" MDF with outside dimensions of 25" width X 18" height X 21" Depth and should come to 3.56 cubic feet after displacement. The Ports will be 3 4" aeros tuned to 32 hz and will be ~27" long each. 15" of the aero will be inside of the box and the rest will be outside of the box

Will this work? I will also be spending $121 bucks for parts at partsexpresss for the aeros alone plus the wood, nails, glue, and chalking to seal the corners up. It will be one expensive box...

Also forgot to mention that the port area, if im doing it right, should be 37.68. That is oppose to a single 6" which should be 28.26. So im hoping this will be enough port area to not have any type of noise. BTW this is meant to SQL oriented.

I feel ya on the cost of the aeros. I only wish they would fit for me. You will be happy. I am just gonna give mine away to my buddy that owns a shop. 45 bucks out the window. LOL.

go three in a bigger box. I"m using 3 4" tuned to mid thirties in 5ish cubes for my 15. couldn't be happier
I would but im concerned with sq going down but even more importantly im afraid of power handling going down. Ive read these subs cant handle much more than 1200 as it is.

Are you set on aero's? What amp are you going to be using? Are those the max dementions that you can work with?
Yup, im pretty much set on using aeros for the simple fact of being more unique. I highly doubt as it is many people, even shop owners, around here even know what a aero port is! Ill be using a ED nine.1 to power it. Ill also have one of basscort's 165ah batts to back it up with another not yet bought 75ah or so bat up front and a stock 115 amp alt(planning on buying a 200amp ho alt in the next 2-3 months or so).

If my design that i posted up top works my only concern would be how to physically keep the ports stable as they are pretty long.

Yhea dude it does **** but if it does work then money well spent. Im sure ill have a smile on my face.

Well that's my concern is the external ports. I've never been a big fan of that look. I've love aeros and have used them many times. If you could alter the size, you may be able to work out that issue. Otherwise your on the right track.
