aeroport expert??? what legnth for my box???

alright.. well i will do 4 " ports... but if 4 of them only gives me 112 square in then would i need more??? btw, i read a website that said if i were to make a mold i can heat up the pvc pipe and form it with a flare.. i messed around with some extra pvc at school and it it actually worked....that would be cheaper i think...

ok few questions for those who can answer.... I have been a little curious and want to know how to do this myself... when im trying to calculate the port area of a round port, would i use the formula for a cylinder or a circle.. it may sound like a dumb question but i need to know. lol. also when i make my flare, does it make a differece if the flare is on in the inside or outside? or should i go ahead and flare both ends?

Port area is for a circle is based on the pi*r^2 formula. Cylinder formula will give you the amount of volume that your port is taking up inside the enclosure. As far as the flares go, the best policy according to the current manufacturer's of ports is to flare both the inside and outside. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I think flaring both ends has something to do with coupling to the air better.

You need at least 8 4" ports. I highly recommend you use 4 6" instead.

yea.. i already decided im doin that instead.. itll be easier because my cheap as isnt going to buy that many ports, gets expensive.. sooo im going to by 6" pvc and make my own flares... its chalenging buy i already messed around with it and i got it to work with some 4" so 6" shouldnt be any harder... itll save me like $80 too..
