Aeroport dampening?

If i understand a port is better the more stable it is (not resonating the entire port) so would it make sense with an aeroport to put sound dampening around the port on the inside to sort of stabilize it?

I doubt you will notice a difference. Try it and let us know.

usualy port resonance happens at higher frequency then you would have to worry about in a subwoofer enclosure, the longer the port the lower the resonant frequency. if you input your enclosure parameters on winISD it will tell you the resonant frequency of the port. if for some reason the resonant frequency of the port is low enogh that your music is going to play in that range. you can build a brace around the port to to a wall to bring the port resonace to an even higher frequency.

You could try it and see if it made any true difference, but really in all actuality it might not make that big of a differene. Unless you are getting some serious port resonation....

You also get resonation harmonics which are simple multiples of the original freq.
