i have one eD 13Ov.2 that i just recently got, loving the sub so far, but i had planned to build a ported box for it. i had a box designed, here it is....
it is 2 cubes tuned to 32Hz. i was just bored and thinking about doing an aero port for this box, cuz everyone seems to be doing slot ports, which i hear is just the cheap way to port. i was this box to sound good so i was thinking of getting a 4" port from partsexpress, 4" flared port. well i put that same box in BBP6, this time using 2 4" round ports, and it is showing that two 4" ports, 34" in length will tune it to 30.8Hz. does that length mean 34" per port, or is that 34" total port length, making each port 17"? the sub will be either facing up or on the side of the box facing the opposite rear fender, the port will be facing towards the rear of the trunk. is this design better or should i just stick with my slot port? is there any advantage using flared ports for just daily use? it would be cheaper to use PVC so would it be ok to do that?
