Aero port config for three sa-12s

Doing a 3x SA-12 build in 5.25 cubes off a sundown 1500, later to be a sundown 2k or 2.5k.

I cant figure out what the correct aero port configuration would be. The biggest I generally see sold are 6s, maybe 8s on here. If I do at least two 8s to get a decent amount of port area then my port length is crazy long (30"+)

Two 6" ports would be plenty, that would be about 10 sqin of port per cube.

Ya this. You don't need as much port area when doing aeros with flares as you would when doing a regular square port.

Yup....2-6's. Thats what I am planning. And judging from your box, you could prolly get away with using the psp kit, just stick em together and bolt em in and ready to rock.

3 4"s would work as well.

2 - 6" aero = 56.54 inches squared

1 - 8" aero = 50.26 inches squared

Yes it does. But these being flared aeros would allow him to successfully utilize 3 4"s. If length is an issue with 2x6 or 1x8, it's a reasonable option.

I would do 2 6"ers.

Assuming 5.25 is Net and not Gross, the lowest he could tune using 2x6" full length PSP aeros would be ~37hz. Might not be what he wants.

1x8" would allow for ~34hz @ 18" full length.

3x4" would allow down to 31hz at 18" (full standard length)

If 5.25 is Gross, then these tuning measurements go up.

Yes but 5.25 cubes and 3-4" ports = a ratio of 7.1 which is too small for aeros

5.25 cubes and an 8" (would be roughly 3" longer than 3 - 4") is a ratio of 9.57 (optimum)

5.25 cubes and 2 6" (roughly 2" longer than the 8") is a ratio of 10.77 (lil on the large side, but room to make box bigger or tune higher)

Three 4"s will work but that's a bare minimum. I'd rather see him do a pair of 6"s. Adjust volume to get the tuning where you want it.
