ADS audio?

hey guys, ive got a good friend who is offering me a "good deal" on a pair of ADS comps...ive never herd them, infact never even herd of the brand...can anyone tell me how they sound and what they compare to...thanks much

A/D/S still makes really good products as far as I know!?

I just heard a pair of there speakers last week and they were incredible. There flagship lines still impress me!

Haven't heard much of their lower end stuff but they've always been a solid brand name but I do agree after directed bought them out it has been goin' downhill but not to bad yet!

I agree on DEI ruining the company (WTF else is new)...but I've heard the 346's and they are very repectable speakers that deserve consideration....nice smooth tweet, but lacks some body IMO.

A/D/S used to make some of the BEST car audio amps in the business. I don't think they were ever considered to be a great speaker mfg. I would say that this wasent a well thought out statement......

ADS is and has been making excellent comps for years.

Directed as a whole have been making mediocra products

for the last 4-5 years......It seems alot of the larger companys

have gone to the crapper since the swap to US to Korean made

merchandise. I bought an Orion 2500D and I absolutly hate it so far

and I am contemplating on swapping it out for something US made

Which ADS model are you getting?

ADS offer great SQ and very smooth Audiophile SQ

and I myself was considering a set recently (346s)

It looks like DEI has tried to make the new ADS speakers nearly identical to the old ones... however, it looks like the new ones have metal cone mids, and the old were poly?

For what it's worth, average wholesale is around $350.00

A/D/S use to make awsome SQ speakers in the 70s and 80s. I had a pair of 320i speakers and they were great. I remember when DEi bought ads and the local shop here had nothing but problems with them and dropped the line.
