Adopted Red Tail Boa FTMFW :)

i just want something i can teach to play fetch with my child (when he's born) and not worry about it. not sure which breed to look for though.
dont think there's a reptile thatll meet that quota lol. congrads on the kid. i recently had a close call myself but the retest came back as not pregnate.....which is good cause im not ready to be a dad. hopefully urs was planned and all the pieces will fall into place making it everything u ever asked for in being a dad. stick with a puppy for a pet, the kid will probly havemore fun with it.

i dont blame u though man. it's a tough choice but between ruining yours and the girls lives as well as chancing the kid living a ****ed up life.......... im pro choice.... i'll have kids when im ready, sure as **** not now. hell dude i had to convince my girl recently that was in our best interest but she refused....thank god the 2nd test came back as not pregnate.....

dispite a general loathe i have for you, good luck man,i hope everything turns out alright in that department

wait till you see the first shed, the colors immediatly following are awesome

having owned snakes/reptiles do you feel as if they grow an attachment to certain people (namely their captors), and if so, how have you observed that? i have always wondered. its a beautiful snake by the way.
no, i'm not messing with you or trying to be an ***.
reptiles lack the part of the brain that would allow them to do this. same reason they wont ever remember their name

I had a red tail boa when I was much younger. It was a great snake, very docile and mellow. It only bit me once and that was because I grabbed it's tale and pulled it back because it was crawling towards the street. It bit and let go very quickly. It was more of a watch it buddy and don't scare me. If they are being agressive and bite you, they will not let go. My snake only got to around 7ft but the size all depends on the size of it's home/ tank. It actually got out one night when it's heater stopped working, crawled into the bird cage, wrapped itself around the bottom pirch and went to sleep. The birds were freaking out at the top of their cage.

I could put my snake around my neck w/ no worries but I would not recommend that to anyone. She was very strong for her size. I would loop her tail through my pants belt loop and she would just dangle down the side of my leg for as long as I would let her when she was smaller.

They are great pets but not for childeren or someone who is scared around them. Like most animals, they seem to sense that kind of stuff.
