having owned snakes/reptiles do you feel as if they grow an attachment to certain people (namely their captors), and if so, how have you observed that? i have always wondered. its a beautiful snake by the way.

no, i'm not messing with you or trying to be an ***.

I've always wondered this also. And this this a very nice looking snake. How big does it get?

Mainly just trying to figure out if it would actually make a good pet snake. I wouldn't want to be the dumbass that gets the 7ft python and has to let it go a year later.

Id say no. Ive owned quite a bit of snakes and reptiles and don't think this is possible. Friends have handle them and the behave exactly the same as if I was. Also Ive never been bitten by one of my pet snakes but I still think at anytime one could decide to bite for whatever reason but its highly unlikely as long as its handled correctly.

Good looking snake. I had a rainbow boa for a LONG time. Great pets. Word of advice, don't feed it in the same place you keep it. Or when it sees your hand it may start to think that your bringing food. We always fed ours in the tub. They make GREAT pets though. Very calm, don't mind being handled.

You may want to rethink the around the neck shots if she gets much larger. You will be surprised just how strong they are.

i already know to take it out of the cage when feeding. smaler snakes and easier to take care of ones (also a bit cheaper) are ball pythons. only reason to defang a snake would be if it's venomous...

as far as them growing an attachment, i think it differs per animal. i've also had a variety of reptiles that some act just the same to others as they do myself, even after haveing thema few years. where as there's others ive had and seen that will act much more comfortable around its owner/captor then others. from a 4ft corn snake to a 9 ft african rock python (that hisses and is MEAN AS HELL)....only the owner can handle it, they'll strike others who even try. That being said, if they do lighten up to you, it's not as obvious and playfully as a dog or a cat, but sometimes u can notice because they dont get spooked by you nearly as easily as when u first got them. it took a month but my leopard gecko doesnt freak out as much when i got to hold him. he'll still squirm and try and get away but at first he would just spaz out and make a break for it. he's much calmer now when i handle him (its been about a month of having him)

Yea, I've also heard that reticulated python is a great dorm animal. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
