right now i have two cervwin vega hed 12s and my friend has 2 rockford he2s and they sound real nice but then my other freind has 3 rockford hx2s and they sound amazing. theirs sound so much better than mine so im thinking of getting new ones later on down the road. I am thinking of the adire shivas because they got such good ratings. but what i want to know is if the shivas are better than the rockford hx2 or the he2 thanks.

shiva's will run circles around both subs in a pure SQ side but for SPL i'd have to give the edge to an HX2 or HE2. i'd still take a pair of Shiva's over a pair of anything RF makes anymore i don't think they put much quality in woofers anymore.

i have a question about spl i know i will get laughed at but is spl the punch that you get out of subs. please dont laugh and if it is then do the shivas still give a lot of punch. also will they give more spl then the 12 cerwin heds that i have thanks.

spl is sound pressure level. it is a volume level. nothing more nothing less //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

He DID explain it. The phrase "nothing more nothing less" should have covered it. SPL represents nothing but Sound Pressure Level. It is about the decibel level produced.

Volume is technically more of a reference to a setting on your head unit. That's why the acronym SPL is used instead, since it is more accurate.

From the way you're talking, I am going to assume user error. Mind telling us what box sizes, amplifier, wiring configuration, or you just gonna tell us "SHIVAS ****!!" and give people a reason to flame you?

A few ways any driver can catch on fire...

1. You take a match to it.

2. You take a torch to it.

3. You use any foreign object to present a ridiculously hot source to the cone and start it on fire.

4. You overpower it in such a drastic manner that the coil cannot dissipate heat, and it finally reaches a core temp high enough to start smoldering the cone.

5. You use a caustic and flammable chemical like liquid nails to seal your seams, and don't allow them to dry, and immediately seal your driver in the enclosure, and the core temp of the coil ignites the fumes.

All of these present user error...

this shoutweb person is just an idiot at my school who likes pissing me off. he is a computer nerd who doesnt even have a car and when you talk about subs to him he thinks your talking about food. dont bother listining to him.
