Picked up a pair of Adire Audio Koda 8" SVC4 subs. Anyone have any experience with them?

I had a single 10 for a while I ran in my car until my friend could pay for the sub and box I built for it.. They are nice subs, very clean sounding.. I had a fairly large ported box tuned at 25hz and for one 10 it got down.. Most people thought it was a 12 and it def had no issues playing low. They need very little power to reach mechanical limits though so just watch that. Pretty sturdy though even if you do bottom them out on occasion.. One of my favorite woofers honestly and I've ran alot.. My friend loved it once he got it in, they play up to 80hz no issue, even in the 25hz enclosure I had it in the output was pretty flat. Very punchy when needed. I'd have to see the T/S to figure out what to do with 2 8's as it's been years, but if it's like most adire subs I bet it'd be good in a 4th order bandpass of moderate volume. If not a ported box tuned low does well too.

They are XBL^2 technology, but they have been discontinued for some time. Even if I did review them you wounds have a hard time finding them.

I don't blame you man. Didn't you recently get a Dayton HF sub too?

You should do a review of your TC vs the Dayton and the Kodas. I have a ref ho, I could buy a tc1000 to do a review against. Chances are it will take a little while to actually get the tc1000 last I checked it was out of stock.

edit: yeah still out of stock. I'll buy one when they come back in.

the koda's always got overlooked because of the Brahma. I liked my 12'' though. They were very nice budget sq drivers back in the early 1990's
