Adding Eq to HU

Hey guys, I have the Pioneer 7700 HU and love it. But im wanting something like the Pioneer DEQ-7600 to give me more sound control and tweaking features. I have a space above my HU in my car that would be perfect to put this in. Im pretty sure i can add the DEQ-7600 to my 7700, correct?...and with this add on it will give me more preouts..?...or will they all have to come from one source (the Eq or the HU)? (just wanting to know if i can use both in combination with eachother without problems) Thanks in advance
