Adding a bass knob after the fact?

I new to this forum, and have little to no audio experience. I just picked up a 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500hd Duramax Diesel that has two Rockford Fosgate 12s under the rear seat, as well as a Fosgate amp (not sure of the output). All hooked up to a dual double din HU. The previous owner installed the system and did not put in a bass knob, only using the HU itself for adjusting the subs. However, I have the subs turned almost all the way down and they're still way too overwhelming while just trying to enjoy music. Is there a way for me to install an external bass knob for quicker and easier adjustment?

Yeah it can work either way. If you don't feel like pulling out your head unit to get to the RCA outputs on the back of it then you could just use the RCA that's going into the amp right now. But all it is is you're putting the remote in the middle of your HU and amp's RCA connection.
