This is a setup that emergency vehicles use. From what I understand you mount the alt on fabricated mounts, and driven by the pulley/belt. This decreases your horsepower a bit. You can run the car off the smaller one and stereo on the bigger one. I would visit an electrical shop that does it for ambulances etc.
