I do not understand how bare wire is bad. This is how ive always had my connections. Even to the battery its a bare wire. Please explain to me how bare wire to the ground is bad or even to a battery. If you think it will get disconnected well then my car would have to fall off a cliff to do that.

Even to the battery its a bare wire.
But the battery connection is secured with a set screw or bolt, and there's a ring terminal on the end of the wire //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Just throw a ring or spade terminal on there, and you're good to go.

That looked like 4awg wiring...it's a little tough to properly wrap 4awg around a bolt, vs. compressing it horizontally //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Template looks good

Although you shoud def clean up that wiring and get some ring terminals for the ground- not just cover the mess with the template- dont have to spend $$ on zip ties, electrical tape is a nice way to clean up some wiring

Good luck- keep us posted

most of the "messy" wiring is my RCA's that still need run to the front. i'm gonna wait to do that , till my new h/u comes in next week.

what gave it away...the fact that you could read 4awg?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

but yes. it is a very secure connection. it is sandwiched between the floor and the seat rail...probably an inch of bare wire. not just wraped around a bolt. if i had to guess, i'd probably say that the way i have it now is a better connection than the ring. not very profesional looking but more surface contact.

Well the bigger reason for ring terminals is for stress relief. That copper wire will wear out where it is compressed under the bolt and break.

Plus it just looks so trailer parkish //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I must say that even my sloppy install in my wifes car is cleaner then that and i thought it was pretty bad. I have temporarily grounded something like that but I'd go pick up some ring terminals from a welding supply shop. Thats really ugly.

the wire will wear out compressed under a bolt...but it doesn't wear out compressed in a terminal...am i missing the logic here?

and as for messy, i know:( i would run it under the carpet like i did have it...but i still got my crossovers to mount still, and i didn't want to take the chance drilling through,or pinching a wire. therefor, i'm making a cover for it:)

anyways...here you guys go.....
