One of my friends has a sony xplod setup with the 2 5 sided 12" subs, and the 1200w max amp (not sure of rms) Suprisingly i heard it and it actually sounded really good, hes got the subs in a custom ported box that i would estimate to be about5 and a half cubes or so. But all the sony systems ive heard before are horrible, what is the actual output of that setup you think? Im thinking hes getting maybe 250rms to each sub but not sure. Im thinking its the box, and the fact that its in a truck. Oh and please dont flame me, im not remotely interested in a sony system, just wondering about the output because its a decent setup and i think he only paid around 150$ for all of it.

yeah. maybe 500rms. any sub can sound ok in a well designed enclosure. sony still sucks.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Forgot to say,

2 of my friends also have 2 sony 12's, and same amp. Neither sound horrible, in fact they think they sound amazing. But they have never heard anything better, so who's to tell them otherwise. Until I get my HDC3 =]

Heard a setup with 2 12" x-plods on that same amp in and exteded cab truck with the subs getting around 2 cubes of space each. Sounded quite well. This is the system that got me started in car audio. Good beginner/ ok budget subs.
