Actual MPG's of 8 cyl's

my 4.9L caddy gets about 18.3mpg... its weird.. its like 10 on the city and about 40 on the hwy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

My 89 5.0 was getting 22+ mpg. Mods were full exhaust, upper and lower intake, MotorSport heads (port and polished) Snorkel intake, and a world class T-5. 3:73's. Key to the Foxbody is to remove all the factory air resticting parts = MPG. I have been actually thinking of getting another becuase it is a true budget hotrod.

that may be one of those V8's that shuts off half the cylinders and runs on 4 on the hwy....if so it seems pretty effective //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

01 merc mountaineer only gets about 14 on the street, close to 20 on highway. it sucks. but i think 22 inch wheels and heavy box in the back has somethin to do with it. maybe i'll gauge it in the winter when that stuff comes out.

I have a 1998 Mustang with a 3.8 and I only get about 11-13 MPG. It blows Im lucky to get 150 miles out of a full tank. I do have a ton of stuff in it tho.

Sorry to thread jack, but I think its crazy. I got the car new in 98 and it got around 300 miles to the tank no prob. Needless to say, I don't drive it that often these days.
those tail lights add HP...NOT MPG

but an 03 z06 vette gets around 30 on the interstate
