Actual MPG's of 8 cyl's

My beat *** 2000 3.8 6cyl Mustang is pissing me off. I'm lucky if I get 18-20mpg which is horrible. It's probably from me getting pissed off from the lack of power and beating the piss out of it all the time. I figure for that kind of mileage I might as well be driving an 8 cylinder domestic like I've always wanted.

Anyone out there with foxbody 5.0 mustangs want to post their actual real world mileage?

Any other 8 cylinders getting decent mileage?

Any alternatives? What do later model turbo supras get for mileage?

Kind of like the older domestics because of cheap price and best bang for the buck when modifying not to mention rwd. Freaking unreliable sometimes though.

I have a 4.3L in my Merc, and I get 22-24 city "most" of the time.

i had a 3.8L T-Bird and got roughly the same gas mileage...

you arent too far off. Be happy you have that and not some power gas guzzler.

Foxbody's are kinda growing on me because of the apparent easy modifying and lightweight. A freaking 87-93 foxbody weighs less than my 2000 6 banger rustang. Frickin unbelievable lol.

I have a 1994 mustang gt 5spd. With a D.S.S 347 stroker, and a vortech T trim supercharger. It gets 22mpg, as long as you are not playing with the gas pedal

i get about 20mpg in my Saleen on the average ...but i like to play a lot...it would probally get about 24 if i drove it like an old man....

I had a 99 Camaro SS and I usually got 21 city and 28 highway which is ridiculous for a v8 with about 290 300HP to the wheels but I guess thats why people say the LS1 is the best engine ever made.

That's it, I'm getting something with an 8. I'd probably get better mileage because I won't be redlining it like the 6 to wring the power out of it in everyday driving.
