ACT test this weekend, any tips?

nice tip im takeing it again sat... got a 18 first time : But im actually goin to sleep b4 i take it lol. G- luck every one!!
It's pretty amazing you can actually type, or read, or live without life support, becasue the sat is outta 2400 (used to be 1600)...god i hope you meant to say the act, for all of our sakes....

JK, i'm sure you meant ACT

Do NOT get overwhelmed by the Scientific Reasoning portion. People get freaked out becuase they use large words, talk about nuclear physics and other crazy shit...
ALL IT REALLY IS... is reading graphs/tables... basically interpreting scientific results...

So don't get flustered, read the results... and answer the questions. Piece of cake.

BTW... I got a 34 my first time. So, it works...

nG
I just took a Science practice test and it was hard as hell...any other advice on that part?

It inaccurately predicts college performance....I think I got like 21 on mine but then graduated with distinction with a 3.7 gpa in college.
Its not meant to predict college performance really, case in point- if somebody gets a crappy score, they go to a crappy school with other crappy academics and they can get a good GPA when measured against those people. Its more a measurement for schools to look at to see if you are the caliber student they want.

yea that was my hardest part too. what i did was looked at key words in the question and then found them in the passage or graph that and dont actually read and try to interpret every graph and passage because there is just not enough time. doing that i ended up doing the best on that section suprisingly and got a 23 on the whole test.

What I always did was skim the questions first, read the thing, then go back to the questions and answer them, referencing the text and graphs as needed. My best section was the reading part iirc, something with english, got a perfect on that section, math kicked my ***, have never been too good at it, got a 30 overall tho

The ACT doesn't do sh_t or mean sh_t

Like the dude said before if you can't get into your first choice school transfer in..

I got a 1580 oh my SAT back in 1998 but then math only went as far as Geo. 2nd year on the test.

Just think of the ACT as a crummy Myspace personality or career test, doesn't mean shit and won't tell you hide nor hair about your real academic history. Now when I took my GRE and GMAT dif. story. But who gives a sh_t, we are talking about the ACT.

However, unless you need some college aide, or trying to get into a top tier school, party your *** off take the ACT and apply to any **** college you want..

Bottom line they want your fuking money more than anything...

ya like noob with rs im gonna go to a community college then transfer to my local state college, so do i still have to take the sat or act?

No, its a community college they take everyone!

No SAT, no ACT, just a simple THEA? Test.. For Texas

Ray Charles could pass even if it was pick a color test.. its that easy..

Most colleges don't even look for or require a test scores after you have completed 20-30is hours of college.

Just make A's and B's, more A's than B's would be great..
