Academic Probation :(

Anyone else ever get put on it?

I just finished my 3rd year in college here in Canada... I'm at a school with one of the best reputations in Canada but I'm super mad about how it's going. But anyways, my GPA after this year came out to 1.98 and below 2.0 is academic probation.

I'm so pissed because I'm so close and I am entering my fourth year so it will be all my tough courses coming up... and I'm even more pissed because it should be a mistake. I took this french course that had 2 profs... 1 for the 1st half of the year and 1 for the 2nd half of it... I had A+ with the 1st prof who was so sexy and cool; then we got this dumb french woman who was a 1st year prof and I had a A in her half of the course and then a B+ on the final exam... but she put my overall mark at B+.... She has no contact information like an email to get a hold of her and I just realized she did this to my mark today... more than a month after the course ended. I'm not sure if I can do anything by complaining now... I might have to accept my B+ even though it should be A or A- overall... I am super mad because that would have kept me off probation.

I also got pissed back in my 1st year by withdrawing from a class. I went to the registrars office to withdraw and she set it up for a late withdrawl but I didn't do the right things online to withdraw so I stopped going to the class and at the end of the year, I ended up with a F for a final mark and it can't be erased... because I screwed up like an idiot and didn't withdraw right....

sorry for the rant... just wanted to air out my problems... anyone else ever get put on academic probation and did it ever f*ck you over and how did u deal with it?

oh i did well... it's just small things that have been hurting my GPA and that one really bugged me. I knew I was going to be close but I assumed with that class as my average booster that there would be no problems... then the prof f*cked me over... Seriously tho... if I saved all my assignments from her term as the prof and went to someone higher than her, would they go back and change the grade or is it too late? I just realized the grade mistake today when I got my probation letter.

I would say fail out or leave, save up some money and go to school down south, canadian schools are kinda a joke.

if you make a big enough deal about it and your case is legit you might have a chance.

Your 2 hundredths of a point off of the mark. Appeal to whomever you need to appeal to and get out of that mess. Then stop messing around a do your work.

Say you get a ticket for driving 72 in a 70 mph zone, you go to the court and say it was "Only 2 mph over" you really think they are gonna drop the ticket?

Just like the rest of the world, nothing is your fault. Having a D average is pretty pathetic, dude.

Maybe instead of looking for excuses and blaming everyone else, you should put more energy into school if it's important to you. what is academic probation? are they going to kick you out? your in your 3rd year your almost there, how many credit hours do you have?
