when i done a big forward faceing box(where the back seat was) in my 01 it was a huge mistake,output suffered alot

what if the ports are facing front too????

so i go to pick up the car today..... i go outside to check it out and it looks AWESOME!!! i would post up some pics but literally 20 seconds after i started listening to it, the whole system shorted out..... like it blew the circuit breaker or something, and when it was on it didnt really bang AT ALL...... i'm guessing i have to drop more money on a bigger alternator now.... you guys got any ideas???? whats up with this thing?? they told me it wasnt loud because the amps were only getting 10 volts and theyre supposed to get 14.4 or something, and they said it blew the circuit breaker because the amps were tuned to a CD and i was listening to an iPod.... whats the deal????

If the amps are only getting 10 volts that means they have been ABUSED! You should give your amps at least 12+ volts steady.

Don't waste another dime at that place. Anyone here will help you out, it just takes shuffling throught the BS to do it.

1: I would bring it back and tell them to rebuild the box.

2: You need the big 3 if you are running 2k watts for sure.

3: you will need a second battery.

You need to keep your volts up, there is nothing harder on an amp/sub than that. If the amp isn't getting volts that means it's probably clipping the sub, and killing the amp.... Double wammy.

so did you buy that capacitor from the shop? did you put the yellow top under the hood? what size wire did they run to the amplifiers from the battery up front? the 1000/1's like the power, they will need more than 1 yellowtop.

yeah, i bought the capacitor. i put the yellow top under the hood with 1/0 wire running to the amps.

what about an alternator? i already had an RF 400.4 in there already

it wouldnt be a bad idea to look at a 180+ amp alternator. and 2 to 3 yellow tops. and plenty of 1/0 wire. Big 3. ditch the dam capacitor

Get another Yellow top, or something simmilar in the back like said... Where are you exactly? We can hook you up with someone who knows what they are doing possibly. People will help other fanatics as long as they are willing to learn.

Try a second battery/big 3 before you buy a new alt.
