I have them running along the same path from engine to my trunk and HU to trunk starting from along the driver's side and have not experienced any noticeable problems with having them run this way. I know it's generally not a good idea from the start (I was a complete noob when I started) but I was just wondering if it's safe to leave them as-is until I move on to a new setup that may require more/less than 4ga from my batt to amp.

If ur not having a problem don't worry about it. It's one of those random things where certain people will get it and others wont.

And I've yet to see a case where noise was caused by having them beside each other and that was the actual problem rather than something legit.
