??? about IDMax subs

hey guys, unfortunately, I had an Idmax go bad today and Im gonna have to get a new one. Do any of you guys know where would be a place to get a good deal on one off the internet?

I went ahead and shelled out 347 to an authorized dealer.

Here is another question, I am running a hifonics colossus at 4 ohms bridged which is giving me 2000 watts at 4 ohms(2 subs so 1000 to each). I basically synged the wire in half going to the voice coils and was wondering if there is too much wattage going to these subs or if I just let it get distorted, didnt notice it, and thats how it ended up blowing. I had never messed a sub up in my life and was just curious to what may have happend. Any ideas?

I would say you aren't over powering them, you might have had some kind of clipping problem, but I can't be sure of that.

The leads may have slapped together causing a short and spark. This could have caused the lead to snap.

Is there any way the average joe can repair the leads or is the sub pretty much useless. Looking at everything, it only appears that the leads were damaged and not the voice coil?

I already bought another one, but Id like to fix it if I can?

ID can recone it, or fix w/e is messed up, recone was $95 + shipping to them, I think they ship it back for free. also if u got it from

they arn't authorized, I dont know why they say they are. ID said in their own forums that these guys arn't.

alrighty thanks. I'll contact ID and see if they can get it fixed for me. It will be worth it to have an extra laying around in case something like this happens again.

gl with that too, lol cuse I know ID is still reconeing alot of subs right now, so u probably wont get it back for a few weeks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I still got 2 blown ones sitting in my room I'm gonna drop off when their not so stress with the other subs (I'm about 20 mins from their new location)
