? about Critical Mass

I am going to have to stand on the road to LCRX's property dressed like a bum with a sign that says "Will work for car audio". My luck, he will only give me Legacy and Pyramid equipment:laugh:

I was not saying directly that you were, simply that the retail price of the UL is completely within reason because there is no sub that is in its nitch.
and I got your point and it is valid up to a point, but to say that they are taking advantage of the ignorant is a stretch don't you think?

I have clients that pay $20k for a Vidikron flatscreen, that could be had for $6000 in Pioneer. It is what they want, and they are very informed. The same thing goes for the critical mass line of products. Not in all cases, but the ignorance is not absolute
When Kicker released the square driver, they could have said no other driver filled its niche, so lets put msrp at $2999.00 When Adire released the first xbl^2 enabled drivers, they could ahve said the same thing, and slapped a $3k price tag on their subs too, I suppose. Not suggesting you can make a UL as cheap as an L7, but you get my point.
It IS a game to ensnare the ignorant. You yourself, when the $2999.00 price is mentioned, allude to the fact you can buy them for a small fraction of that. Does nobody pay msrp for CMass products? If not, clearly its just a marketing ploy. At least other manufacturers DO have alot of dealers who charge that actual msrp rate (as much of a rip off as it is). And then the discussion moves to the used market. So again its clear the initial buyer really takes it on the chin, or CM marks their msrp up way higher than their actual 'price' to create an illusion of added value or performance.

before you CMass fans get your pitch forks and torches out, let me remind you of the similar feelings towards JL's prices. Nobody knocks the performance of a W7, but negative feelings about their prices run rampant. JL doing the same thing, but to a lesser degree.

If you have clients that pay $20k for a TV that they could get the exact same of but says Pioneer on the front for $14k less, they are definitely not informed. Either that, or they are a poor example to use of someone using better judgement. That is what this is all about after all right, discussing value versus msrp versus 'street price'?

Phoenix Gold use to advertise $100k amplifiers once in a while too, just to hype the company as a top quality component maker. If they make a $100k amp, even their $1000 amps must be great, right? Its not a new game.

hey can u answer a serious question ......what make CM products cost so much .... like that 100k amp which u can get for 8k ...even at 8k whats so special about it ...is it made with some kind of space age technology .... what make the quality of that amp any better than sundown,us amps ,dd, zapco and so on

they cant because they dont know themselves or they would

right?

Do you have the same opinion about Sinfoni, Brax, Rainbow, Dynaudio, Genisis, Morel, McIntosh...

All of these companies and ones like them have products that to the average Joe seem to be outragious. They all have quality, features or querks that lend them selves to the smallest market at the top of the economic ladder. They all pass the point of deminishing return. For those who don't value the added benefits or exclusivity understanding would obviously be hard to come by.
why is my quote in there you ******* retard? what does it have to do with your weak argument? I never said that any specific product was over rated...and its quirks, and diminishing. sell some of your junk, and buy some English lessons.

was I talking to you? nope. The problem with you is you seem to have the need to make this a personal issue. I have never done and nor will I ever do anything to have any personal issues with you. You need to attak me personally shows a major flaw in your character. and I would not allow myself to deal with someone like you. So unless you can explain what I have done to you to deserve you to attack me personally, please keep on subject or shut the hell up.

nothing more than Brax, Sinfoni... also have. Which I stated before. You may or may not value the difference. the difference may or may not be measureable. But there are those that feel it is.

I assume their business model is one that works off much lower volume producing sustainable profit margins through grossly higher profit margines. If it works for them, why not.

Dave- you try and put "quality" into every post you make about these products. give me specifics. WHAT is the exceptional quality you boast about? and sorry, saying something vague and retarded followed by "...." wont cut it.
Well I've ran multiple of other products and brands....and Critical Mass products have some of the best SQ that I've experienced....I was highly impressed with them....I feel they are ahead of their time in the upper end products that they make...sorta like the Blade Technologies amps of the early 90's.....sure there are a lot of good products I haven't got to try as of yet...but I've found out if something ain't broke...don't try and fix it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
