? about carbon dust caps ?

hi guys,

i was thinking .. I SMELL SMOKE .. LOL

but i see all the good sub have a option for a carbon fiber dust cap.

is this just for looks or does it help the sub ? if so how ?

when i order my sq 15" i had the option to get a c/f/ cap but was like a extra $60 . would it have been worth it ?

Just looks mainly. Unless you are running stupid high power and destroying dust caps.

thats what i was thinking but was not sure. did not know you can destroy a dust cap with high power..

I believe it helps make the cone more rigid under tons of power..... but that's just an assumption. But it doest help with cooling

Helps to keep the cone stiffer. But I've seen some dust caps really stiff & some flimsy.
