Though it is an extremely complicated topic in a philosophical sense (lots of good reasons for abortions, with a few detractors as well), the issue is a relatively simple one: we need to scientifically determine exactly when a cluster of cells becomes human. That is the only prerequisite as we have already agreed that warrantless killing of another human being is wrong.

It took me a while to find a "label" for this...but my own view is the age of virility. In order for something to be alive, it must be able to survive without a host. Scientifically, this is why a virus is not considered a living thing....because of it's reliance on the host. In the case of an infant, the mother is the host. If the mother dies, it dies. If it can survive without the mother, it is alive.

However, what I do not know is if virility is black and white.

Yes, I did. They took me away from my mother because they thought I had a variety of genetic diseases. I have no issue with kids being nursed to life by medicine, as we do it often with people who are already living and try to bring them "back to life"

What I have an issue with is the idea of 4 or 5 cells being a living thing, when on it's own, cannot function as a living thing.

i was talking about without medicine ( I too was in the baby IC unit for 3 months after birth)
