why you comparing a 10 to a 12? Also I know where you can get that 10 for less and with a real kicker warranty.

I am not personally experienced enough with the Solobaric subs (square ones....I've fooled with more than a couple of the old-school round ones back in the day) to know the exact differences between the L5s and the L7s as far as sound quality and output is concerned.

I do know that the peak wattage rating on them (as is true with the peak ratings on everything else) is an immaterial number and is good for nothing more than marketing purposes.

My opinion (and keep in mind this is strictly opinion) is that assuming that the 10" L7 and the 12" L5 are both installed in appropriate enclosures and fed adequate power I would suggest you'd get more output out of the 12" L5 due to nothing more than more cone area. Whether or not it would sound better I couldn't say....like I've already stated I do not have enough experience with the Solos to make an educated response in that area.
