Ok well my aunt had a problem with her car. I am telling this to explain how important this is. Her car would run but the gauges would mess up the car would start sometimes and sometimes not alot of weird stuff. Something electrical.

Newer car I might add. Well I told her what to check she told me the cars too new etc. So needless to say I pop the hood. The battery had some sht built up. To clean it you should use a wire brush or a battery terminal cleaner. Well to prove my point stuck a screwdrive down in it to make a clean connection. The light under the hood was bright but got alot brighter. Tried the door lock worked like a charm, and it started fixed the problem. Had nothing to clean it with at the time so used some baking soda and water and poured it on the terminals. Also disconnected the ground while we did this. But that cleaned them right up and the suv works great.

Just so people know that alittle bit of corosian (spelling) can really do a number so try to clean them once every month or 2 for a good connection.

yup yup!

it was funny a buddy of mine pulled his white powdered encrusted side terminals and wanted to know a good way to clean them up. I pointed to his generic 20oz bottle of soda he wasnt drinking....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

He dropped both in and the soda **** near exploded into fizz all over the place!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

(corrosion) And you're right. You can pick up an inexpensive battery terminal wire brush tool for a few bucks at any auto parts store, could save you a lot of problems and a battery

I just wanted to let some people know, because I am sure half of the people on here have there terminals have a good amount of crossion on them. I have some on mine I have to clean I know of. But I wanted to point out what a major problem that can cause and a simple way to clean it.
