Ok, so the load I need to push is a 1800watts (thermal rating) @ 2.66 Ohms.

I have 2 options i'm trying to decide on.

I can get a factory refurb JBL GTO14001 for around $330.00 or possibly less

Or...

I have a Broken JL Audio 1000/1 which I can get repaired by JL for $230 + Shipping.

What would you do and why?

correct.

Most amps aren't .5 ohm stable.

Also I'm looking for extremely low distortion levels, I won't say SQ cause I know some idiots on this forum will jump all over that. But far from a pure SPL oriented system.

...Mainly why I wanted to go 2.66 instead of .66

I know that The JL won't have a difference in distortion from that ohm load.

JBL is rated at lower ohm loads but no so sure how the distortion acts vs ohm load.

Why would I run that? USED>> It wouldn't be stable for my Min ohm load and at 2.67 it would put out less than 750Watts. for almost double the price of the JL
